Now that you have completed your service at the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, what do you think about what we did and accomplished? Did we do enough? Too much? Did this reinforce your willingness to volunteer in the future? Please post a response by Tuesday, Oct. 8.
I personally loved hacking down the trees and seeing the progress that was being made, knowing that it would have taken much more time and effort if we hadn't been there. I'd love to go there again and help out and learn more about making the environment healthier. I'm not even saying that to sound like a noble soul like seriously. Greg seemed to be so passionate about what he was doing and I love seeing that in people.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this service learning project because we were outside and working with friends. We were not forced to work at a particular speed and they were thankful for whatever we did do. We were able to accomplish a lot of work in the hour we were working and I am sure we saved them a lot of money as well. I have always been willing to volunteer so this did not affect me in that way.
ReplyDeleteDoing this service learning project I had a lot of fun. It was something new for me, I have not done anything like that before, but I'm glad I could take part in this adventure. I think we helped the DRIWR a lot, but if we were able to be there for a longer time we could have accomplished much more. I love volunteering and someday I'd love to go back here and help them even more.
ReplyDeleteI loved the SLP down at the refuge because it reminded me what service felt like. Having a memory and re-experiencing something that makes you feel god in a multitude of ways are two different things. I enjoyed the light physical labor and working with my friends for a common goal that had such a huge impact. Being a city girl I dont get the chance to go chop down trees very often but doing so even for an hour made such a huge impact that Im inspired to re-comitt myself to community service. This was just the right amount of time spent outdoors working to inspire others to get involed. Too much would just make people hat Unv 1010 even more.
ReplyDeleteduring the service learning project i had fun and enjoyed what i was doing. it also made me kind of miss other types of volunteering i had done in the past because i have always made the best memories when i volunteered. I think we did do a lot but it was not to much it just seemed like a lot because i got tiered. i have always loved volunteering so for me it just makes me want to continue to volunteer through out my life.
ReplyDeleteI think that the service learning was a very good experience. It left a great impact. I loved working in the outdoors and its great to work with others. We did a lot, but I think we could have done more. The more the better. But what we did, will make a great impact. I will forsure volunteer in the future. I love how it feels. Maybe Ill even go back to the refuge.
ReplyDeleteI loved volunteering at the wildlife refuge. I feel that we accomplished a lot for the reserve as a group, and saved them lot's of money. I do feel that we could have done a lot more. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
